Poly-Poxy Coatings was established in 1987 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and started out as a manufacturer specializing in solvent-based wood coatings and adhesives.
The Company has come a long way since its inception, setting up operations in Vietnam, distributing coatings to both domestic and international clients, diversifying the product line to be applicable beyond wood substrates and expanding our market from Business to Business (B2B) to Business to Consumer (B2C).
In addition to the manufacture of internationally recognised products and the provision of excellent customer services, we also acknowledge the importance of continuous improvement and the welfare and wellbeing of our team members.

Our water-based (WB) technology is formulated to be environment friendly and free from conventional toxins. These products match solvent-based lacquers in terms of curing ability and the water-based lacquers is actually superior in terms of water resistance. Therefore, the transformation from solvent-based to water-based wood coating would be perfect.
Poly-Poxy water based wood coatings consist of fillers, stain, sealers and topcoats, available in varieties of pigmented solid colors, transparent and semi-transparent stain and clear for professional finisher. Environmental and user-friendly, water is unique and does not behave like conventional solvents (viscosity, drying time…). Patience and practice will surely help achieve the full benefit of water based wood coatings.
Advantages
- Low VOC.
- Environment friendly.
- Safe in workplace.
- Better chemical resistance than nitrocellulose lacquer.
- Good adhesion to wood and between coats.
Disadvantages
- Slower drying than solvent base lacquers.
- Drying time is affected by atmosphere humidity.
- Some grains rising depend on wood substrate.

Offering many advantages over traditional drying methods, UV-curable coating has been shown to increase production speed, reduce reject rates, improve scratch and solvent resistance, and facilitate superior bonding. UV coating cures is chemically cross-linked. This provides for a coating film which has much higher chemical resistance than the waterborne. Theirnature is entirely active chemistry thatconverts directly to a solid finish uponexposure of the applied coating toultraviolet energy.
Advantages
- Fast curing.
- High solids coatings, up to 100%.
- Products can be quality control checked immediately after passes through the U.V. light.
Disadvantages
- Cure only by exposure to ultraviolet light.
- Low gloss is difficult to obtain.
- Higher price in comparison to other lacquers.

Developed as a substitute for rubber during World War II, polyurethane has grown in popularity which most commonly in the form of polyurethane coatings. The durability, corrosion resistance and weather resistance of polyurethanes makes them suitable for coating all kinds of surfaces, including of wood, metal, plastic and most of flooring surfaces. Our Polyurethane coatings can reach superior level of protection after applied by creates an impermeable barrier between the elements and the object it’s covering.
Advantages
- Very good at mechanical properties, hardness, flexibility and abrasion.
- Quick drying.
- High solid – about 45%.
- Excellent chemical resistance.
- Seals out rain, dirt, mud and natural surface enemies.
- Provides protection from humidity and oxidation which can cause corrosion.
Disadvantages
- Short pot-life is major disadvantages.
- Emits odors and fumes, though they're not that highly noticeable.
- Some blowing agents in polyurethane produce greenhouse gases that have negative effects on the atmosphere

The common method of adding color to wood after it has been sealed is with glaze. While you can add fairly uniform color with it, you can also use glaze to highlight carvings or flutes, create sunbursts and cameos, turn a painted surface into antique, add age to wood, or even create patterns like fake wood grain and marble. Unlike toner, which is applied just like clear finish, glazing involves both special materials and fairly unique handling techniques.
