Tool bit

Made of high cobalt alloy high speed steel, ASSAB 17 is well-known worldwide for its excellent cutting properties, wear resistance, toughness and heat resistance. Its hardness has been carefully adjusted to 67-69 Rockwell C to give each ASSAB 17 tool bit optimal properties for its field of applications.

ASSAB supplies a wide variety of standardised machinery steel such as ASSAB 705, ASSAB 709 and ASSAB 760.

Applications are as wide:

Both ASSAB 705 and ASSAB 709 are pre-hardened machinery steel, suitable for induction hardening and can be nitrided or nitrocarburised to a surface hardness of 600 to 650 Vickers.

ASSAB 760 with high machinability is primarily intended for use in the as-delivered condition with applications encompassing punch and die holders and backing plates, jigs and fixtures and structural components.
