Climate
Danang has a tropical monsoon climate with 2 distinct seasons, the rainy season from August to December, the dry season from January to July. The average annual temperature is above 250C. Annual average precipitation: 1,870.9mm. Average annual air relative humidity 82%. Particularly, Danang is endowed with Ba Na forest at approximately 1,500m altitude with an average annual temperature of 200 C. Topography: Varying from mountains to midlands to plains mounts and hills of 700 – 1,500m altitude cover most of the territory, they have sharp slopes (7400), bear primeval forests which are mostly close to the coast. |

Natural Resources
Soil types: Danang has varying soil types: dune, sandy soil at the shore, saline soil, aluminium sulfate soil, alluvial soil, gray soil , black soil, reddish yellow soil, peat reddish yellow soil. The most important soil type is alluvial soil in the coastal plains, suitable for intensive rice cultivation, horticultural crops planting in the city outskirts. The reddish yellow soil type of mounts and hills is suitable for perennial industrial crops, special crops, medicinal plants, animal husbandry. Transportation
With its international water and airways, its roadway and railway, acting as an important access to the sea of the Central Highlands, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, and Northeast Asian countries, Danang finds itself at the junction of and international traffic zone. Roadway: The road network covers a distance of 1,200km main city roads and national roads account for nearly 50% of the total length. City roads are uniformly connected with rural roads which particularly have been 90% asphalted or made out of concrete. Danang constitutes the access to the trans-Asian highway passing through the East - West economic corridor. Airways: Danang international airport has a land space of 150ha. With 2 landing strips 45m wide, 3,048m long, it can well accommodate modern aircrafts (B747, B767, …) Seaway: Danang locates in the middle of the country therefore sea transport is very convenient. It is the main gate way to the sea to Central Vietnam provinces, the Central Highlands and Sub-Mekong region – GMS (Cambodia – China – Laos – Myanmar – Thailand – Vietnam) countries. Railway: The North-South railway crosses Danang City over a distance of 30km passing through Danang, Thanh Khe, Kim Lien, Hai Van Nam stations. Danang Rail Station is one of the major stations in Vietnam. |

Telecommunications
Danang is one of the three biggest post-telecom centers in Vietnam with every modern services. There are actu- ally 583 transaction sites and post agencies, 93 of which are post stations. Telephone subscriptions number 1,211.800, averaging 150.2/100 population density. Post-telecom service has been rated as a high speed growing and modernizing business. Danang avails an international ashore - connecting sea bed-lying optical fiber cable which constitutes an information highway catering to business production activities and socio-economic management not only of the municipality but also of the whole Central Vietnam area.
