An Giang Transportation Joint Stock Company was established in 1977. In 1989, according to the regulations of the State, the People's Committee of An Giang province issued Decision 463 / QD-UB-TC, dated on December 11, 1989, on the renaming of State Transportation Enterprise into An Giang Transportation Company.
In the years 1980 - 1990, the company had two main activities: passenger transportation and cargo transportation all over the country, in addition to fixed routes passenger transportation. The company expanded and attracted passengers for contracts service to visit, travel, and entertainment, tourist services, security and national defense services, transporting troops to South western border provinces.
In 2004, implementing the Party and Government Directives and Resolutions on 22/04/2004, An Giang People's Committee Chairman issued Decision No. 671 / QD-CT-UB on moving An Giang Automobile Transportation Company into An Giang Transportation Joint Stock Company that changed the form of managerial organizations from State enterprise to the private joint-stock company. The name of An Giang Transport Joint Stock Company officially came into operation on January 01, 2005.
Since its founding, with many experience in transportation, the Board of Director has step by step consolidated to construct and bring the company to a growth and becoming a leading company in transportation in An Giang province. From 2005 up to now, the company has successfully organized and operated the bus model in the whole province, bringing joyful beliefs to the citizens, especially pupils, students, and people in remote areas, ethnic minority areas that has created the beauty of urban landscape, minimize congestion, and traffic accidents from which are supported and sympathized by the citizens. The total number of vehicles of the company is 175 cars, of which 143 buses; the number of employees is 545, the average income is 4 million VND / person/month, compared to 14% before the equitization. The company also manages Long Xuyen Bus Station with a total area of 30,000 m2 to meet the needs of enterprises as well as the needs inside and outside the province to participate in activities at the station, besides there are services for renting representative offices, warehouses, and a medium repair workshop of all kinds. With a team of skilled workers, the business of sightseeing and tourism has been paid special attention by the Company. At the present, the team of drivers and vehicles have partly met the needs of customers in both quantity and quality with the 45-, 29-, 16-, and 4-seater which are high-quality and modern automobiles. Besides that, the price is affordable for the market.
