In 1992, we changed our name from Katolec Rikuun to KATOLEC. As its name suggests, Katolec is engaged in two fields of business-logistics(L) and electronics(E)-and cultural activities(C).
Expanding our business from marine transportation to land transport, and further to electronics, we have been transforming ourselves by adeptly meeting the changing needs of the times and flexibly dealing with challenges of new themes. This has been Katolec's corporate culture handed down from generation to generation.

Katolec designs, develops, and manage systems indispensable for distribution control. Such systems, including inventory management systems and transportation management systems, help us offer wide-area information services connecting our business bases. Under these systems, we help customers build a district control system and coordinate with customers' proprietary systems. Thus, Katolec offers total solutions for distribution services.
Our information system is designed to reflect shipping data from customers in our management of transfer instructions, truck deployment orders, inventory control, and so forth. The system is capable of promptly providing customers with information on such matters as freights and the state of delivery. These data are delivered to customers by using such interfaces as EDI, customer terminals, and electronic mail to meet specific customer needs.

Real-time Cargo Tracking System
Katolec's delivery staff carry with them a terminal containing a barcode reader and a cell phone. Delivery information on such matters as the delivery status is sent to a system through this terminal. Customers can retrieve their delivery information on the Web at any time. Our system is highly appreciated by them.

Storage service
Katolec owns and controls a total of 220,000 square meters nationwide for storage at its business warehouses, cold storage warehouses, and fixed-temperature facilities. These facilities permit us to protect customer property under a secure quality control system.
Inventory Control
Katolec's inventory control system permits the management of product locations and expiry dates.
Cargo Work
Katolec offers such cargo work services as handy product inspection at terminals and cargo sorting. We also provide single-picking and total-picking services in accordance with cargo properties, such as quantity, shipping frequency, and lot size.

Katolec runs more than 40 distribution bases nationwide and owns and controls about 800 vehicles. They connect Katolec's warehouses located at 26 sites. Goods are transported on main roads from one factory to another and from factories to customers to meet a variety of their needs.
As a third-party logistics (3PL) partner, Katolec proposes an integrated concept of flows of goods from the material procurement process to the product distribution process.
Furthermore, by taking advantage of expertise accumulated in our electronics business concerning productivity, quality improvement, and other factors, Katolec supports different customers needs by performing distribution processing, custom clearance, and system coordination.
Joint deliveries, in which goods from multiple companies are carried in one truck, are an effective means of cutting transportation costs and saving energy. Katolec carries a wide diversity of goods in joint deliveries, including food products and cosmetics.
